Priorities
Early Childhood Education
Our vision in early childhood education includes supporting high-quality, center-based child development programs that provide full day, year-round care in Georgia to families in need to ensure that children will be successful in kindergarten and beyond. Through our funding, we aim to enhance the quality of early childhood education programs for working low-income families; increase access to and enrollment in early childhood education for children of underserved populations in need; and to advance the organizational capabilities and sustainability of centers in Georgia by making select investments in capacity and infrastructure.
Primary and Secondary Education
By funding primary and secondary education in Georgia, we hope to increase access for Hispanic/Latino students and families so that the students graduate from high school prepared to succeed in college. At the present time, our funding is limited to independent schools in Georgia and we are evaluating other potential partnership opportunities that would support more students in a broader capacity.
Higher Education
Our higher education strategies include: increasing Hispanic/Latino student enrollment through outreach, recruitment, and retention strategies that focus on access and student success; investing in educational initiatives that strengthen the pipeline of Hispanic/Latino students and increasing access to college by supporting financial aid and scholarship programs for Hispanic/Latino students. Our giving is primarily focused on Georgia institutions with a few exceptions that the program staff proactively manages.
Youth Development
By partnering with six pre-selected national organizations with local affiliates in Georgia, we support programs that increase outreach to Hispanic/Latino youth and their families by promoting effective leadership, strategic staffing, community engagement, and successful partnerships. We also focus on initiatives that help these institutions advance their capabilities and sustainability by making select investments in capacity and infrastructure.
Immigrants and Refugees
By partnering with a pre-selected group of organizations that serve immigrants and refugees, we fund programs that are focused on self-sufficiency and family stability as well as programs that support the success of immigrant and refugee children in school. In addition, we fund initiatives that advance the organizational capabilities and sustainability of institutions in Georgia by making select investments in capacity and infrastructure.
Arts & Culture in Metropolitan Atlanta
By partnering with a pre-selected group of arts organizations in metropolitan Atlanta, we invest in programs that promote institutional and financial strength and sustainability as well as programs that support innovative, high-quality arts educational initiatives that reach children and families in a measurable way.
Historical Relationships
The Foundation maintains relationships with several organizations with whom we have a historical relationship. These relationships include organizations serving people with disabilities and children in youth homes, among others. Although applications are not accepted, the Foundation staff will proactively contact these organizations as appropriate.
