Step #4 - Grant Review
Many organizations are reviewed during all steps of the grant-making process, and very few are asked to submit proposals. The Executive Committee decides on each grant proposal based on materials prepared by The Foundation staff.
Foundation policy precludes personal appearances by the applicants before the Executive Committee and Executive Committee members should not be contacted personally concerning a proposal to The Foundation.
The Foundation attempts to contact via telephone all organizations considered on the afternoon of the Executive Committee Meeting to share the decision. In addition, each organization is notified in writing shortly after a decision has been made on its proposal. If a grant is approved, funds generally will be disbursed to the organization in December of that year.
Eligibility for reapplication is specified in each organization's grant agreement. If an organization's request is declined by the Executive Committee, they are required to wait one full calendar year before submitting another organizational overview form.
